Objetivos:

– Cloning and heterologous expression of ureases in E. coli

– Studies on the mechanism of antifungal action of ureases

– Transformation of maize and sugarcane with jaburetox aiming resistance of the transgenic plants to insect pests

– Studies on the cytotoxicity of Jaburetox in mammal cells and in Drosophila

– Regulation of expression of genes encoding soybean ureases

– Post-doctoral training with Dr. Joseph Polacco, Univ. Missouri, MO (2006-2007)

– Collaboration with Dr. Helaine Carrier, at ESALQ-USP, for sugar cane transformation (2011)
